Iceland
Reykjavík as base, Golden Circle day trips, and long summer light — Iceland rewards travellers who leave room for weather and empty roads.
Most first trips run from Reykjavík: a walkable capital for food, pools, and harbour walks, then day tours into the Golden Circle (Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss). Five to seven nights cover the classic circuit without forcing the entire Ring Road.
Summer brings long daylight and fuller trails; shoulder months (May–June, September) often balance price and weather. Winter is for northern lights and patience — tours cancel for cloud and wind, so keep one flexible evening.
Fly into Keflavík (KEF), then bus or transfer into town. A rental car helps for self-drive days; otherwise book Golden Circle and south-coast tours with hotel pickup. Blue Lagoon is optional, not mandatory — book only if the soak is a priority.
Tourison tip: lock Reykjavík nights and one Golden Circle day first, then the Oslo–KEF flight when dates firm up. Related deals below cover a Reykjavík-based escape, centre stays, the classic day tour, and the Oslo inbound route.
